The Creative Muse

I am a huge fan of TED Talks. I love the mix of intellectualism and creativity. Truly, it is thrilling so watch and listen to great minds.
I was working on an article on Creativity and I found this clip by Elizabeth Gilbert who wrote Eat, Love, Pray. I loved her description of the creative process. What blew me away is that I have always felt that opening yourself up to creativity is opening yourself up to the God, Divinity, Divine Intelligence, Source – essentially, the Spiritual Component.
Eat, Pray, Love was one of the books that changed my life. I could relate to the author as searching for something greater than her and it took her to the far flung corners of the earth just to find her own self. This is what happens when you become dissatisfied with all the outer trappings of success.
In my research I discovered that the word “genius” has its roots in spiritual guidance. Think of the word “genie.”
All this research is rather incredible to me as I admire the unfolding of my next offering around awakening your creativity and personal brilliance.
What did you think? Some people feel that creativity has no spiritual component to it. Is that true? What is your creative process? Please leave me comments and let me know.
Thanks

I can increase my love of my husband by expressing that love, verbally and in actions and reminding myself of that love. I can keep the love I have for my parents alive by engaging in rituals that honor them such as remembering their birthdays, lighting a candle for them, looking at their old pictures and reading the letters they wrote me when I left home for college. I can barely pass by babies without kissing them and slobbering and cooing all over them when I go past them.
I can increase my love by staying in a place of love, doing what I love and reminding myself everyday that my purpose is love.
Affirmation: My purpose is love and I easily flow in love energy.

This is so easy. I love my wonderful husband. I love my parents that have passed on. I miss them a lot. I love my brother and sister and my niece and nephew. I love my coach and mentor. I love my friends. I love my spiritual parents. I love my pastor and I love my extended family.
I love newborn babies. I love their innocence, softness and sweetness. I love animals. I love my kitty that died recently. I love children. I love people and most of all, I love my own self.
Who do you love? Why?
Affirmation: I love me.

I love to do what makes me feel good. Writing, reading, watching tv or movies with my sweetie, gardening, looking at blooming flowers, looking at my colorful reef tank, getting the best hugs and kisses in the world from my sweetie and laughing.
I also love coaching. The type of interaction that I have with clients when I am coaching them is so pure. The relationship is already set up. I am in tune to the client and my listening is on and my intuition is on. I am zoned into the client. When I respond, the client absorbs it. Truthfully, 99% of the time, I come away from coaching, charged and energized. I get in a zone. I know I have delivered value and the client tells me that. I love it. I end up learning so much from my clients.
Another way of putting it is the coaching experience expands me in a very pleasant way. All of the things that I mentioned that I love, expands me. That is why I love to do those things. I do them and I feel that I am a better person for doing them.
How about you, do you do what you love to do often? Do you know what you love to do? What is holding you back from doing them? Coaching can help you identify and do more of what you love.
Affirmation: I do what I love to do.
